Day 27: Spring
Blooming
Over the past 3 weeks, the weather in Germany has been consistently inconsistent. One day it’s raining, the next day it’s sunny. I tried to pack for that in mind, because everyone told me April is a moody time for the weather throughout the month. Even then, there were some things I wish I brought with me like a scarf and sunscreen. Thankfully, I can find everything in stores here.

Despite the unpredictable weather, on days when it’s sunny, you can start to see signs of spring/early summer. In the large field in between our office and the main Mercedes Technology Campus, dandelions are starting to bloom. The bright, vibrant yellow is a stark contrast to the deep green of the grass. Slowly, more and more flowers are starting to bloom.
Regular Pit Stop
On the way home from work, I was pretty hungry. I decided to stop off at Proper Pizza, again. I think the staff recognize me at this point, because they immediately start speaking to me in English. I had the BBQ Chicken-style pizza and a Radler.

If you don’t know what a Radler is, it's basically a German shandy, beer mixed with a lemon/citron-flavored drink which is sometimes carbonated, like Sprite. It’s common to have mixtures of alcohol and soda. It’s taken me a few to get used to it, but now I’m a fan. With the sun popping out more and more, a Radler is a very refreshing option. While I enjoy the flowers blooming in May and June, I’ll be sipping on a Radler or two in the countryside.
I'm not sure how often I'll visit Proper Pizza after this as I move closer to Stuttgart at the end of this week, given that there are lots of neat restaurants to check out throughout the city. I won't close the door on it just yet.
